Irene, we hear you’re pretty feisty -
well, we are too.
The end of summer is right around the corner and we just don’t have the time or patience to do the whole hurricane-no-fun-pity-party-stuff. Thats not to say its cool to be unprepared (or in denial!) but we think we should really let it be an upper instead of a downer….why not?!??!?! We love the Vineyard no matter the weather, so here’s what we’re thinkin’ for the next few days/hours:
THURSDAY (what’s left of it) 08/25:
We’re guessing Squibnocket is showing some pretty lil peelers right now with the storm coming – its probably a top 10 surf day. And if you are total amateur at surfing the waves go for the alt. board sport – SUP. wuzSup Sports can help you get on a board – get out on Senge before the winds start to pick up. You might even land a pre-storm tan – you’ll need it….sun is gonna be in hiding for the next few.

FRIDAY 08/26:
The morning is looking to a be a bit rainy and gross but as the forecast looks right now – 12p-6p is gonna be partly sunny…let’s bank on that. Get Out and do something cool – we were thinking a Menemsha Hills hike, lunch at the Galley and maybe an afternoon at Lobsterville beach. If the weather doesn’t cooperate it might be a great day to hit the shops in EDG, OB, or VH….as we all know…weather never stopped the shopping spirit. You probably do “need” a lil end of summer gift for being such a “good” kid ha! Oh, and before you head out for the night make sure to stock up at Your Market for the possible gnarliness that may hit on Saturday…you can never be too “prepared”.

SATURDAY 08/27
H. Earl was a huge tease last summer around this same time – but like we said earlier….it is cool to be prepared – you never know what may happen. But being “prepared” can take many forms. When and if the storm hits break out the Dark & Stormys and toast to the excitement of #IslandLife and #Hurricane Season. With a D&S in hand start to think back to the time you actually had time to sit down and watch a movie. Throw in a comedy and chill for a bit.We are thinking Dark & Stormys – Texas Hold ‘em – Movies…bring the Crew over – the more the merrier!
Let’s hope that the forecast is totally totally wrong so that the Supernova Fieldtrip Freedom Cruise on the Seastreak can leave port….it’s a wild time. We’re crossing our fingers.

Not the best beach day 
– but wind/rain/and general nastiness outside doesn’t have to stop #SundayFunday. Here’s whats on our agenda:
1. Make sure you have ample water – for emergencies but also to ward off that hangover you woke up with.
2. 3-5 of your favorites movies…its gonna be a marathon.
3. 3-5 of the coolest/funniest people you know on-island – they’ll come in handy around 3pm after all the planned “fun” has been had.
4. Plan a trip – with all the money you saved this summer (yeah right!) – live vicariously through the planning…we’re thinking BVI?!?!?!
5. Call your Mom. She’s probably worried. You’ll thank us later.
6. Start cooking a big decadent dinner with tons of wine…you earned it.
7. And…pray 4 sunshine….
