Peep the New Boneyard
For all you lazy surf bums out there that used to fret about riding all the way up to the stop&shop area in Edgartown, The Boneyard Surf Shop has moved onto main street! With a new spot comes new merchandise to tickle the fancy of each and every surf bro or bra on the island. Past Boneyard shoppers know that this homegrown surf shop has always had the great products to please even the biggest waterman around town. Trish Lyman captains the Boneyard crew and explained the excitement about the shops new digs. “We still have the wide range of gear that we’ve come to be known for, but now have the space downtown to make shopping easier and more comfortable.”
The keg has been tapped on this already established vineyard shop and they are pulling out all the stops this year, bringing you some of the freshest things you’ll see on the sand and surf breaks. The Cat Studio beach bags and Noon Copenhagen watches are some items that have been flying off the yard’s shelves, but The Boneyard is going huge this year with a line of original brand products such as belts, shot glasses, hats, basically anything you can dream of putting the legendary Boneyard skull on.
The Yard is also pioneering the surf market in New England by stocking the pro ridden Hayden shaped surf boards from Australia. With pros like Craig Anderson crushing competitions with Hayden boards, you know they must be the cats a**. But now you might say “well I can buy/rent a board from The Boneyard, but where do I ride it?” Don’t worry, the self proclaimed “chillest crew around” at The Boneyard knows the waves like the back of their freakin hand. South Beach has the appeal to the masses because of it easy access and plenty of parking. Long Point has breaks for any swell chaser but requires an entry fee. Finally, Squibnocket is sacred surf ground on the island but is a town beach so it’s tough to grab a wave there.
Stay dialed into The Boneyard hype because you know they are going to mix up some sweet event cocktails. Vintage surf hero Robert August from the film Endless Summer will be on island later this summer to hang out with The Boneyard crew. But you best believe they have their crafty little hands into many other cool events and vendor demos for you to benefit from. That’s all for now but Martha says hit The Boneyard for all your surf style needs. Remember, Martha knows best.
