Getting Around

getaround

Well believe it or not, you don’t have to toss a thumb out while back peddaling (funky way of walking backwards)on the side of the road on Martha’s Vineyard. (Although it can become a fun past time) There’s a ton of ways to get around this beautiful island and it doesn’t have to break the bank or put a damper on your style. Although Martha does drive a zippy little car, she’s sure to take note that sometimes on Martha’s Vineyard, it just makes sense to use other means. You can rent a ton of things here on island, ranging from bikes and mopeds to cars and surfboards.  Between taxi’s and buses there’s transportation galore. We really don’t care how you get around the island, but we sure as hell want to let you know your options! So whether it be the classic taxi ride at 2 am or hopping on the Vineyard Transit Authority Bus, it’s your summer and enjoy the ride.

BlueFish Taxi

30 Sep 2009 |

Don’t be alarmed by the freshly caught Bluefish as you clicked into this page. It went to a good grill, we mean um home, well you get the idea. Luckily, Bluefish Taxi has nothing to do with those fierce blues running around the island of Martha’s Vineyard but they do have something in common with “We run every Shore” as their slogan readily states. Whether you’re cruising into the airport on an all VIP classy sway (Cape Air Included of Course) or ready to get out of the house/hotel and down to where the action is. There’s really an array…

StageCoach Taxi

30 Sep 2009 |

The days of riding around in horse & buggy are over, but that essence lives on, well in some form or another with the Taxi company Stagecoach. If you’re out on the Vineyard for a wedding, business, travel or just plain had far too much to drink at the watering hole, give them a call and they’ll be swooping in, maybe even cowboy style to get you to where you need to be. With an easy 1-800 number you won’t be breaking the bank on those phone calls and still getting a sweet ride to where you need to be.…

Vineyard Pedicab

24 Jun 2009 |

Alright so your legs are tired, back aching or well lets be honest, you don’t want to walk, but would rather be carted around in style around Oak Bluffs. What are we talking about? Pedicabs of course! They are those funky yellow “chariot meets rickshaw” things cruising around Oak Bluffs this summer doing great things for the community and even greater for battling cancer. How so? Well Vineyard Pedicab operates towards helping get you around town but more so donating proceeds to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center which is part of the Pan Mass Challenge. Well, enough of the…
