Over the past few years, Martha has had the uncanny ability of making contact with some of the raddest f*$#@*^ people in and around the island.  Martha’s Vineyard Outfitters, a fly-fishing and light tackle guide service, is owned and operated by Brice Contessa. Contessa, a life long summer tenant and now a year round resident, is truly a person that has chosen an interesting way to navigate this open field, which is life.

Before you even untie the lines and pull out of the harbor, it’s apparent that Brice gets that heading home feeling wash over him. His ocean knowledge, unique approach to angling, and even his signature checkered Vans shoes make fishing with Contessa and experience that is hard to replicate. M.V.O is equipped with a fast and comfortable 22 foot Pathfinder.  Three anglers can cast with ease while Contessa uses his strong and spiritual connection to his craft to conduct the oceans bounty onto the end of your line.  Second Chance, the dubbed name of the Pathfinder, has the capability of being launched into all of the Vineyard’s coastal waters, flats, and estuaries. To many enthusiasts, this allows for a variety of different fishing situations as opposed to chartering that usually targets fish of only one area.

The relaxed nature of a guided trip from Brice will make you feel like your fishing with a lifelong friend. He’s the first to admit “When I was a kid, I said I wanted to be a fisherman when I grow up.
