When you’re ready for a kickass time and a few potent cocktails, you might want to mosey on over to the SeaFood Shanty and make the trek upstairs where you soon learn you should have been all along. The bar is hefty with plenty of bartenders at your call and the music variety varies so be sure to check in often. Whether or not you’re into the music, drinks or people, let it be known there’s an epic view and sight from the rooftop bar be it day or night that will surely put a smile on your face and if anything, let the good times roll. So take it from us, more so Martha, that if you’re ready to get rocking do come and pay a visit to the “Shanty”.

What are we talking about? Well, Nectars of course! If you’ve been keeping tabs on the daily happenings on Martha’s Vineyard and have an itch for some real live music with some heart palpitating bass and stacked to the brim bar, you’re gonna want to split on out to Nectars, which is nicely settled aside the MV airport. Nectars already, the infamous venue out of burly Burlington VT has the notoriety and wherewithal to make shit happen, bring in the serious gigs and well, their summer line up speaks for itself. HUGE. So, if you’re tiring of the Edgartown/Oak Bluffs bar scene night after night, mosey on over to a far more memorable, epic and straight up iconic spot. Nectars. You’ll likely see Martha either atop the bar, or if anything causing a ruckus. It’s a place to get down, get loud and always remember.

This monster of a building presides over Oak Bluffs offering a great range of entertainment and has been doing so for a ton of years. Tucked back inside are some enormous bars and (2) floors of total greatness. Music up top, boozing down stairs and well hold on, there’s a huge bar upstairs too by the venue. Enjoy that as well! The bartenders are great, and there’s a few pool tables to lose some money on (or win, your choice) and after all is said and done, we think you’ll be coming back here for more and more.

Bring your vocals, looks, shakes and hips, it’s a great place to cut loose, drink up and let the good times roll.

Martha has been a happy gal ever since, being able to toss her peanut shells on the floor, stomp around a bit, and make some noise with some of the islands most eclectic live music.  We want to really let you know what kind of beers we’re talking about here. The beer list is changing constantly as new brews come pouring out of the holding tanks behind the bar. Check out the massive chalkboard behind the bar letting you know what’s fresh, hoppy and sure to make your day/night memorable. So check it out, have a pint and take it easy, it’s Summer time.

After a few years of cranking out some serious food, the management upp’ed the anty and transformed this place into Sharky’s Cantina. Here, you can get your paws on over 100 types of Tequila from the dirty dog Cuervo right up to some of the finest 100% agave Tequila that will be sure to put some hair well, wherever you want it! The staff is super laid back, fun, and def there to make your experience memorable. It’s a great spot to meet friends, be seen, and toss back a few. Aside from the Oak Bluffs location, Sharky’s swam to Edgartown and set up a nice location on Upper Main Street, with outdoor dining and ton of space! There you can find the same delish offerings and bite into (no pun intended) their signature meals!

Known for some of the better late night DJ parties, Island House Bar is where a to the brim full glass of beer is poured out of the various taps and the drinks move at a pace unseen elsewhere. The dance floor is big enough to throw your lean back, but the perfect size to dance up with some of the island’s happening guys and girls. We highly recommend cruising through the Island House Bar on a hot summer night and thumping to the beat of some class act hip hop and reggae beats. It’s def a place to get wild, shake some things and make it happen. And if you’re lucky enough to see Martha tossing her hair and getting low, be sure to grab her a drink, she isn’t a cheap date!

The outdoor bar will take care of you while you mingle with a hell of a mixed crowd of boaters, drinkers, islanders and all sorts of visitors. It’s a great scene at night and during the day, another cool different option of places to hang out while enjoying your time on Martha’s Vineyard. Despite the tons of sand poured around the tables and chairs, we don’t recommend any sun bathing, unless well, you’re not shy.

Atlantic Fish & Chop House is a prime time restaurant affair but believe it or not, they’re offering some dance party DJ action and awesome live music, acoustic chilling rhythm on most nights. So in true Martha fashion, we’re going to give you the lowdown and the time and night to get on down there and check it out. It’s a stone throw away from the Wharf Pub so it’s nicely settled in the Edgartown bar/nightlife scene. Check it out for dinner, or simply stroll in for drinks and dancing. There’s a good chance you’ll see Martha at the bar sipping on a cosmo or getting down with a dirty martini. Either way, you should check it out, because well, it’s only Summer on Martha’s Vineyard one time a year.
